Born on May 23, 1971, Ganesh Acharya is an Indian choreographer, actor, and film director best known for choreographing songs for ‘Rang De Basanti’ (2006), ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ (2006), ‘Golmaal’ (2006), ‘Omkara’ (2006), ‘Bodyguard’ (2011), ‘Singham’ (2011), ‘Agneepath’ (2012), ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ (2013), and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ (2017). He began his Bollywood debut at the age of 21 years with the film ‘Anaam’ (1992). He rose to prominence for choreographing songs ‘Aisa Jadoo Dala Re’ for the movie ‘Khakhee’ (2004), ‘Beedi’ from ‘Omkara’ and ‘Chikni Chameli’ from Agneepath. As of 2021, he has choreographed over 150 Bollywood songs. He made his acting debut with the movie ‘Roti Ki Keemat’ (1990). As of 2021, he has appeared in over 20 Bollywood movies including ‘Company’ (2002), and ‘ABCD: Any Body Can Dance’ (2013). He made his directorial debut with ‘Swami’ (2007), and has directed four movies as of 2021. He is the winner of the National Film Award.
